Election Diary: Dusk

The day has been pretty spectacular. Warm, soft and welcoming. It doesn’t feel as off as it’s felt even though it’s just as warm. The light of sunset was gorgeous, golden like honey with pink clouds in a blue sky.

I watched an owl sitting in the spruce tree across the street and saw a river of crows streaming across the sky headed for their nightly roost. And to my own surprise, I feel like everything is going to be okay.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it feels like the end of the beginning. Tomorrow, we start over. Today, I planted flowers for the Spring, made a giant apple crisp, changed the location of the birds’ baths for winter and worked out. Twice.

Could we be so blessed as to see the end of the Orange Carbuncle’s stranglehold on all forms of media? Might he even go to jail? It’s such a lovely evening, I can almost believe wishes could come true.
